Sugarhouse Maple Cornbread Recipe – A Twist To Your Favorite Comfort Food
Ingredients:
1 ½ C yellow cornmeal
1 ¼ C all purpose flour
1 TBS baking powder
½ C granulated sugar
1 tsp salt
1 C milk, cream or half and half
2 eggs
1 C frozen corn kernels
1 ½ C Sugarhouse Maple Chicken Sausage by Amylu, small dice
½ stick butter, melted
¼ C maple syrup
Directions:
1.) Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
2.) In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
3.) In another large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, corn, diced sausage, melted butter and maple syrup.
4.) Fold in the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, do not over mix.
5.) Pour mixture into a greased 9×9 inch baking dish. Bake for 45-55 minutes at 350 degrees until top is golden brown. Slice and serve into 9 or 16 square pieces.
