Caramelized Onions & Mushroom Chicken Burger

Caramelized Onion & Gouda Chicken Burger

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Caramelized Onion & Gouda Chicken Burger
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 large onion, sliced
  • 4 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Brioche bun
  • 1 slice gouda cheese
  • Arugula 
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard 
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • Pinch of salt
  • Fresh Cracked Black Pepper

DIRECTIONS:

  • Mix mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic cloves, salt, and pepper in a bowl to make the garlic aioli. 
  • To a pan on medium high heat, melt the butter then add the onions.
  • Sauté the onions until they start to soften and brown, about 10 minutes, then add the mushrooms and turn the heat down to medium. 
  • Let the onions and mushrooms caramelize for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. 
  • Add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper and cook for another 5 minutes or until the onions and mushrooms are soft and golden brown.
  • Warm up the Caramelized Onion & Gouda Chicken Burger in a pan on medium heat, flipping once and adding a slice of cheese on top.
  • Cook for a few minutes, until the cheese begins to melt. 
  • To a toasted brioche bun, add a layer of the garlic aioli, followed by the chicken burger with cheese, caramelized onions and mushrooms, more garlic aioli, and top with arugula. Enjoy!
