Caramelized Onions & Mushroom Chicken Burger

Caramelized Onion & Gouda Chicken Burger
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Caramelized Onion & Gouda Chicken Burger
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1/2 large onion, sliced
- 4 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Brioche bun
- 1 slice gouda cheese
- Arugula
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- Pinch of salt
- Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
DIRECTIONS:
- Mix mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic cloves, salt, and pepper in a bowl to make the garlic aioli.
- To a pan on medium high heat, melt the butter then add the onions.
- Sauté the onions until they start to soften and brown, about 10 minutes, then add the mushrooms and turn the heat down to medium.
- Let the onions and mushrooms caramelize for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper and cook for another 5 minutes or until the onions and mushrooms are soft and golden brown.
- Warm up the Caramelized Onion & Gouda Chicken Burger in a pan on medium heat, flipping once and adding a slice of cheese on top.
- Cook for a few minutes, until the cheese begins to melt.
- To a toasted brioche bun, add a layer of the garlic aioli, followed by the chicken burger with cheese, caramelized onions and mushrooms, more garlic aioli, and top with arugula. Enjoy!
