Caramelized Onion & Andouille Sausage Sliders

Servings: 6-8

Andouille Chicken Sausage

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 pack Andouille Chicken Sausage
  • 4 large onions 
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 pack rolls of your choice 
  • 1 pack cheddar cheese
  • Mayo
  • Everything but the Bagel seasoning

DIRECTIONS:

  • Peel and slice onions.
  • Add butter and a drizzle of olive oil to a large skillet.
  • Once the butter starts to melt, add onions and cook, stirring on medium-low heat until they are caramelized. This may take about 45 minutes.
  • Slice the Andouille Chicken Sausage.
  • Once the onions are done, remove from heat and add the sausages to the same skillet.
  • Cook for 5 minutes on medium heat until they are slightly charred.
  • Return onions to skillet and mix with sausage.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 
  • Add a pack of rolls to a lined baking sheet with parchment paper. 
  • Slice in half and take the top off.
  • Spread the bottom with mayo and then layer with cheese. 
  • Add the sausage onion mixture then top with more cheese. 
  • Close the rolls with the top half, rub with a little mayo and sprinkle with Everything but the Bagel seasoning.
  • Bake for 20 minutes. 
  • Slice into pieces and enjoy!
